WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?
It’s hard to choose my favorite movie, but my top five favorite movies (in no particular order) are as follows: Almost Famous, The Sandlot, Stand by Me, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Annie Hall.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I enjoy traveling, adventuring to new art galleries and restaurants in the Southern California area, hiking, yoga, running, Netflix-bingeing, and paddle boarding.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VACATION SPOT?
My favorite vacation spot is the Maasai Mara region in Kenya. I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Kenya in 2012. I found the Maasai Mara region to be not only wonderfully picturesque in terms of its landscape but also majestic, as I was able to be in such close proximity to some of the world’s most beautiful and rare wildlife species.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB?
The best part of my job is working for an employee-owned firm. Because LSA is an employee-owned firm, each employee takes immense pride in every project we work on as each successful project equates to a company-wide success that benefits all. Furthermore, employees within the organization work closely and collaboratively with one another, which promotes an atmosphere of camaraderie among LSA employees. As such, every day that I come to work, it doesn’t feel like “work” because I am able to share the day working collaboratively with some of my closest friends on projects that I am passionate about.
TELL US YOUR JOURNEY AND THE STEPS YOU TOOK TO CHOOSE YOUR CURRENT CAREER.
As an undergraduate, I studied City and Regional Planning at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with an emphasis in Law and Society. It was through the combination of these two fields, as well as a semester spent abroad designing a parcel in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal, that I discovered my passion for planning and environmental law. When it came time to look for a job after graduation, I focused on finding a firm where I could explore a career as an environmental planner. After gaining a more in-depth understanding of planning and public governance as a summer intern with the City of Irvine’s Housing Department, I applied to LSA, and the rest is history!
