Jelly’s Ferry Road at Sacramento River Bridge Replacement | Tehama County, CA
Tehama County, in conjunction with Caltrans, proposes to demolish the existing Jelly’s Ferry Road bridge and construction of a new bridge upstream of the existing structure on a more functional alignment.
The LSA Team’s scope includes preparing a Negative Declaration and Categorical Exclusion to address California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act requirements. Technical studies required to support the Mitigated Negative Declaration/Categorical Exclusion include farmland, biology, land use, community, cultural, and water quality.
The project area includes extensive oak and riparian woodlands, and crosses the Sacramento River. Federal or State listed species in the project area include Valley elderberry longhorn beetle, Central Valley spring- and winter-run chinook salmon, Central Valley steelhead, and North American green sturgeon.
The project has undergone several design changes that have resulted in additional areas needing to be surveyed and additional documentation.
