Analyzing Environmental Impacts of Sediment Management
San Diego Bay Sediment Remediation Project | San Diego, CA
LSA prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the San Diego Bay Sediment Remediation Project for the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board. The EIR included the analysis of the environmental impacts of sediment management, including the impacts of the proposed dredge activities, dewater/treatment of the dredge, and transport to the disposal site. These effects include the potential for release of contaminants into the water and air as a result of the sediment management activities, air quality impacts from the equipment emissions and vehicular trips associated with the dredge activity, and short-term noise from truck trips traveling to and from the project site/shore to the freeway. The Draft EIR was completed less than 6 months after project kick-off. The EIR was certified in March 2012.
